Wellstar College’s Engagement and Networking Day 2026, held on February 25, 2026, in the Student Recreation & Activities Center, connected more than 444 students with 58 community and industry partners. Launched in 2022, the annual event has gained national prominence by creating pathways to internships and employment opportunities, with students securing experiences across the region.

Organized as a job fair and internship networking event, the day allowed students to network directly with community organizations representing a wide range of health, human services, and advocacy fields. The event emphasized real-world readiness, helping students translate academic learning into professional pathways before and after graduation.

The event was coordinated by Dr. Monica Nadan, Program Director of Human Services and Director of Strategic Partnerships and Social Impact and Professor in the Department of Social Work and Human Services. Under her leadership, Engagement and Networking Day continues to strengthen relationships between students and community partners.

“While this is a campus‑based event, its reach is national. Our students are building connections that lead to internships and careers across the country, and our community partners recognize the value of engaging with well‑prepared, purpose‑driven talent. Each year, we see firsthand how these relationships translate into opportunities and impact.’  â€” Dr. Monica Nadan

Community partners reported high levels of satisfaction, with an average rating of 4.42 out of 5 and 92% indicating that expectations were met or exceeded. Student feedback mirrored this success, with 87% stating the event met or exceeded expectations and an average satisfaction rating of 4.33, highlighting the value of hands‑on networking and career exploration.
Beyond the event, Wellstar College’s commitment to experiential learning delivers measurable community impact. From fall 2024 through summer 2025, more than 4,000 undergraduate and graduate students completed voluntary workforce development oriented internships, representing an estimated community value of over $11 million, demonstrating how partnerships translate into meaningful outcomes for students and communities alike.
