Prior to coming to KSU, Dr. Harmon was a Visiting Assistant Professor at Emory University, where she also earned her PhD in political science. Additionally, she has experience teaching in the state prison system.
Outside of teaching, Dr. Harmon works on research related to human rights, violence, and gender. Her articles have appeared in the British Journal of Political Science and Political Research Quarterly.
Dr. Harmon is the director of EverWell International Scholarship, a nonprofit organization that supports survivors of human trafficking as they navigate higher education. She also serves on the board of Climb Beyond the Barrier and the board of the Consortium for Rights Analysis and Measurement. She was recently honored as a Woman of Achievement by LiveSafe Resources and was the recipient of the Autistic Allyship Award at Emory University.
