New Building Access Hours for Fall 2025

Why has the University decided to limit access to buildings?

The Enterprise Risk Management team evaluated a variety of risks related to keeping our building schedule the same. Because the University has invested in a state-of-the-art electronic lock system and mobile credentials, we can provide simple access to our students, faculty and staff based on the building type and need.
Did all the building hours change?

The change is primarily to academic buildings. The hours to these buildings varied prior to this change but will be standardized moving forward. This makes it simple for our campus community to understand when they can access academic buildings.
How were the new building hours determined?

The Door Access Department did a comprehensive review of building hours. For academic buildings we evaluated the time of the first and last scheduled course sections. For administrative buildings we evaluated current business hours.
Can I request a change to the building hours?

No.
How do I look up my building hours?

Standard building hours are available on the Door Access website. Specialty hours for self-op buildings are available on their website.
How can we ensure our students have access to the buildings they need with the new limited building hours?

All students will have access to academic buildings during the Academic Card Access hours. Departments can continue to request extended access for their students using the current process as they do now.
