North Georgia Honor Orchestra
October 10-11, 2025
The North Georgia Honor Orchestra is a unique event designed to bring together the most talented pre-college string instrumentalists in and around North Georgia to focus on developing advanced technical and musical skills under the guidance of the exceptional KSU Bailey School of Music faculty. The two-day event includes orchestral rehearsals and sectionals, a faculty recital, and other activities, culminating in a performance by the orchestra in KSU鈥檚 renowned Morgan Concert Hall. Students are invited to participate based on nominations submitted by their orchestra directors.
Orchestra Invitational

Hosted by the Bailey School of Music, the KSU Orchestra Invitational is a unique educational event that brings together outstanding high school orchestras from across Georgia for a day of performance, collaboration, and growth. Participating ensembles perform in Morgan Concert Hall, receive expert feedback from KSU faculty and guest clinicians, and enjoy a featured performance by the KSU Symphony Orchestra. This invitational offers students and directors a valuable opportunity to refine their artistry in a supportive, collegiate environment.
Jazz Fest at the Nest

On May 2, 2026, we will host the fifth 鈥�Jazz Fest at the Nest鈥� at our beautiful campus and top-notch Geer College of the Arts facilities from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. (registration starts at 8:00 a.m.). We are thrilled about another opportunity to make jazz education enjoyable, accessible, affordable, and beneficial for your students and your music program.
As a music educator, you may nominate students you feel would benefit from鈥撯�揳nd contribute to鈥撯�搕his event. Additionally, students who would like to participate without a nomination may sign up and submit their audition videos. Our team will sort students into jazz groups based on experience, skill level, and director recommendation. What types of groups? We will offer big band ensembles and (limited) jazz combo groups.
