Important Facts

  • Freshman students apply to Kennesaw State on .
  • No essay is required, unless students are applying for the Honors College.  
  • KSU recalculates GPA based on the 17 required high school courses.
    • The University System of Georgia (USG) high school academic courses required of all first-time students includes:
      • 4 units of English | 4 units of Math | 4 units of Science | 3 units of Social Science | 2 units of same Foreign Language, 2 units of American Sign Language, or 2 units of USG approved Computer Science
      • For additional information on the USG-Freshman Admission Requirements, visit .
  • KSU is test score optional through Summer 2026 and first-year applicants can be admitted without ACT or SAT scores if they have a GPA of 3.2 or higher.
    • NOTE: We recalculate GPA based on the 17 required high school courses.
  • Test scores will be required for admission starting Fall 2026. Minimum test scores are:
    • ACT: 18 – English or Reading and 18 – Math
    • SAT: 500 – Evidence Based Reading and Writing and 490 – Math
    • Please note that certain programs may require higher minimum test scores such as Architecture.
  • Students who apply by the priority deadline have early access to Housing and Orientation sign-ups.

*Encourage your students to apply by the priority deadline to have early access to Housing and Orientation sign-ups. On-campus housing is not guaranteed for all freshmen and is assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. 

Dual Enrollment Program Resources

  • Dual Enrollment students apply to Kennesaw State on .
  • A minimum GPA of 3.0 with qualifying test scores OR a minimum 3.2 GPA (test scores optional) to be admitted.
  • We recalculate GPA based on the 17 required high school courses.

    • ACT: Composite score of 26 in a single national test administration

    • SAT: 480 – Reading and Writing; 440 – Math
    • ACT: 17 – English or Reading; 17 – Math
    • Accuplacer: 237 – Reading; 4 – WritePlacer; 258 – Quantitative Reasoning, Algebra & Statistics
  • ºÚÁÏÍø offers a seamless admissions process for students who would like to transition from a dual enrollment to a degree-seeking student.
