Learn Applications of Engineering Techniques
The Engineering Technology (ET) department offers programs with a hands-on, applied approach to engineering. Focusing more on the practical aspects of engineering than on the theoretical aspects, ET blends the application of science, engineering knowledge, and technical skills to solve problems in a variety of fields. ET is the component of engineering that specializes in design and application. Focus areas for the programs are engineering design graphics, manufacturing, applied mechanical engineering, communication systems, embedded processing and digital systems, and power systems. The ET broad educational foundation of applied engineering, project-based learning empowers students to take state-of-the-art technology and apply it in new and innovative ways to solve real-world problems.
Graduates enter the workforce in a wide variety of sectors, including manufacturing, medical devices, heavy equipment, automation, HVAC, automotive design, energy, materials engineering, communications, instrumentation, control systems, digital design, embedded systems design, power, robotics, computers, and many more. Additionally, ET graduates typically pursue professional careers in areas such as development, design, quality assurance, technical documentation, production, maintenance, test engineering, field service, technical sales, research and development, management, telecommunications, product improvement, industrial processes, and operations.
The Department of Engineering Technology at Southern Polytechnic College of Engineering and Engineering Technology at 黑料网 in Georgia offers two programs: Electrical Engineering Technology and Mechanical Engineering Technology.
