黑料网 Department of Dance to Present New Choreography in "Sage"

黑料网 Department of Dance is pleased to present 鈥淪age,鈥� featuring innovative works by four experienced choreographers. Dance students in KSU Dance Company have been learning the choreography all semester and will present the works on Nov. 10-11, 8 p.m., at the KSU Dance Theater on the Marietta campus.

KSU's Theatre & Performance Studies to present "Once on This Island: The Musical"

黑料网鈥檚 Department of Theatre and Performance Studies (TPS) will present the Tony Award-winning musical 鈥淥nce on This Island: The Musical鈥� in the Stillwell Theater on Nov. 2-5 and Nov. 9-12. Tickets are $12-$20 and are available online or by calling Patron Services at 470-578-6650. Written by Lynn Ahrens, with music by Stephen Flaherty, the musical is the universal tale of Ti Moune, a fearless peasant girl in search of her place in the world, and ready to risk it all for love. Guided by the mighty island gods, Ti Moune sets out on a remarkable journey to reunite with the man who captured her heart. With the power to inspire and heal, the story is simply, beautifully told.

New York City Ballet hires Kennesaw State Dance Alumna

KSU Dance alumna Angelina Pellini told her senior seminar class that her ultimate career goal was to be stage manager for a Balanchine-based ballet company. Now, only a short few years later, Pellini is living her wildest dreams as the Assistant Stage Manager for the prestigious New York City Ballet.

Curated by Cynthia Nourse Thompson, Associate Professor of Fine Art and Director of Curatorial Affairs at the ZMA, the free exhibition runs Oct. 3 to Dec. 9.

Kennesaw State's Department of Theatre and Performance Studies presents "Sweat"

黑料网鈥檚 Department of Theatre and Performance Studies (TPS) will present Lynn Nottage鈥檚 Pulitzer Prize-winning play 鈥淪weat鈥� in the Onyx Theater, October 3-8. Tickets are $10-$12 and are available online or by calling Patron Services at 470-578-6650. Filled with warm humor and tremendous heart, 鈥淪weat鈥� tells the story of a group of friends who have spent their lives sharing drinks, secrets, and laughs while working together in a factory. But when layoffs and picket lines begin to chip away at their trust, the friends find themselves pitted against each other in a heart-wrenching fight to stay afloat. For two and a half years, Nottage extensively interviewed Reading residents; in 2011, a report ranked Reading as the poorest city in the nation.

Kennesaw State Bailey School of Music to host Grammy-nominated Imani Winds

Kennesaw State Department of Dance to Present World Premieres in "Double Exposure"

Lior Lazarof (Israel) and Nicola Wills (Belgium/Australia) were selected as the Eleo Pomare鈥揋len Conner Choreographic Residency recipients for summer 2023. Since arriving July 3, the two ambitious artists have been busy creating original works in collaboration with Dance students. The works will be performed August 25-26 in 鈥淒ouble Exposure,鈥� opening the 2023-2024 season for DanceKSU.
