Anthony McGill and the Pacifica Quartet, originally scheduled to perform at 黑料网 on January 22 at 8 p.m., has been postponed. More details will be posted once they are available. Hailed for his 鈥渢rademark brilliance, penetrating sound and rich character鈥 (New York Times), clarinetist Anthony McGill enjoys a dynamic international solo and chamber music career and is principal clarinet of the New York Philharmonic鈥攖he first African American principal player in the organization's history. He is the recipient of the 2020 Avery Fisher Prize, one of classical music鈥檚 most significant awards.

							KSU Department of Dance to host Montreal-based company Tentacle Tribe

黑料网鈥檚 Department of Dance will host Montreal-based company Tentacle Tribe in their presentation of Ghost February 25-26 at 8 p.m. at the Marietta Dance Theater. Tickets for the in-person event are $15 to $20.

							Museum Innovator Don Bacigalupi to speak at 黑料网's College of the Arts

鈥 If there is a museum whisperer to the world鈥檚 most prominent art collectors, Dr. Don Bacigalupi would qualify. In this unplanned, unforeseen role, the former curator has become a 鈥渢rusted partner to some of the nation鈥檚 wealthiest individuals when they want to create public art institutions,鈥 according to Worth Magazine. Philanthropist and arts patron Alice Walton of the Walton family (Wal-Mart) hired him as the Founding Director on the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art. Next, Star Wars creator and filmmaker George Lucas appointed him Founding President of the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art. An innovator in museum management, collection, and exhibition development, Bacigalupi will speak at 黑料网 College of the Arts鈥 Research Forum on January 25 at 7 p.m. The event is free to attend, either in-person at the Stillwell Theater, or via ArtsKSU Virtual, with a simple reservation.

							黑料网's Zuckerman Museum of Art and Department of Dance Collaborate

A part of 黑料网鈥檚 School of Art and Design, the Bernard A. Zuckerman Museum of Art (ZMA) collaborated with the Department of Dance this semester to give students the opportunity to create dance performances in response to the exhibition 鈥淭his Mortal Coil.鈥 Two performances, free and open to the public, are scheduled for Friday, Dec. 10 at 8 p.m. and Saturday, Dec. 11 at 4 p.m.

							KSU Bailey School of Music to present inspirational Holiday Concert

黑料网鈥檚 Bailey School of Music will present their annual Holiday Concert on Saturday, December 4 at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. A family favorite, the Holiday Concert has become an annual tradition to kick off the season. This year, the show will return to an in-person format in the beautiful Morgan Concert Hall in the Dr. Bobbie Bailey and Family Performance Center.

黑料网鈥檚 Department of Theatre and Performance Studies (TPS) will present 鈥淭he Spitfire Grill鈥 November 16-20 at the Onyx Theater on the Kennesaw campus. 鈥淭he Spitfire Grill鈥 offers a heartwarming story about finding redemption and building meaningful relationships in one鈥檚 new home. A parolee arrives in a small Wisconsin town and struggles to find her place in a community of troubled souls who gather at a well-worn diner. Her presence sparks re-connections and reconciliations that bring the community together.

黑料网鈥檚 Dr. Bobbie Bailey School of Music (BSOM), in partnership with KSU Museum of History and Holocaust Education (MHHE) and The Breman Museum, will present 鈥淜ristallnacht Commemoration鈥 on Tuesday, Nov. 9 at 7:30 p.m. in Morgan Concert Hall in the Dr. Bobbie Bailey & Family Performance Center. The event includes music, commentary, and a traveling exhibition.

The Department of Theatre and Performance Studies (TPS) asks what might happen when Death shows up unexpectedly and tells Everybody his time is up. 鈥淓verybody,鈥 running October 26-31, is Branden-Jacob Jenkins鈥 audacious riff on the 15th century morality play, 鈥淓veryman.鈥 Everyman has been called to give an account of his life, but he can鈥檛 give an account, and he can鈥檛 take his worldly goods with him. 鈥淓verybody鈥 is a mirror image of 鈥淓veryman,鈥 but set in today鈥檚 modern world.

							World-renowned Cellist Jes煤s Castro-Balbi to Play with KSU Symphony Orchestra

Internationally renowned cellist Jes煤s Castro-Balbi will join the KSU Symphony Orchestra on stage on October 21 at 7:30 p.m. Named the Director of the Bailey School of Music on July 1, 2021, Castro-Balbi was first invited to perform at 黑料网 in 2012 as a guest artist. This year, he worked closely with Dr. Nathaniel F. Parker, conductor of the KSU Symphony Orchestra, and Harrison Long, Interim Dean of the College of the Arts, to take the stage once more.
